If you’ve ever joined us for a River City Show, you’ve heard the phrase, “Who are we… We are River City!”
River City has been entertaining the Coulee Region with our fast-paced, family-friendly ski shows since 1972. We strive to give back to our beautiful community by offering FREE ski shows every Wednesday evening during the summer months (weather permitting). If you can’t make it out to Airport Beach, you can find us at La Crosse’s annual Riverfest Celebration over the 4th of July weekend or at Lake Wazeecha in Wisconsin Rapids for the annual State Water Ski Show Team Tournament in mid-July.
It is our belief that anyone can learn to ski… or, help those who do! In addition to our Show Team, we have a Developmental Program meant for our show skiers to learn new skills and we offer a Learn-To-Ski Clinic through Onalaska Parks & Rec for those who have never had the opportunity to learn how to ski. River City also collaborates with North American Squirrel Association (NASA) to host Adaptive Ski Clinics giving youth and adults with physical and/or cognitive challenges an opportunity to be on the water. Seeing how much they love it, we hope to expand this program in the near future.
River City is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that is 100% volunteer! Anyone can become a member of our team. Members range from beginning skiers to advanced skiers to those who never even touch the water. Because our team is 100% volunteer, it takes a lot of non-skiing “man-power” to run the team; boat drivers, spotters, dock hands, announcers, sound, concessions, seamstresses, photographers, choreographers; you name it- there’s probably a place for you! So, whether you join the team, join us at a show, or donate financially, we extend a big, huge THANK YOU… we’re glad you’re here!
Go River City!
