ADAPTIVE WATERSKIING

The River City Water Ski Show Team is committed to bringing the joy of water skiing to as many people as possible. In 2015, we hosted our first adaptive ski clinic with the assistance of some instructors from Wisconsin Dells who brought the necessary equipment with them. Since then we have our own crew of volunteers and instructors and, in partnership with the North American Squirrel Association (Nasa), we now have three adaptive sit-skis to use for these events. Part of Nasa’s mission is to help the physically challenged enjoy recreational activities, so the partnership with River City is a great fit.

The smiles and squeals of joy from participants are something you have to see to truly appreciate! They LOVE it!

We schedule two clinics each summer that are FREE for all participants. The team’s adaptive sit-skis have adjustable seats to accommodate adaptive skiers of all different heights, sizes and abilities.

Participants register for a one hour block on one or both clinic days. Each of these sessions is limited to six skiers per hour. Participants may ski with the assistance of side skiers or with outriggers on one of our sit-skis.

Our clinic dates for 2023 are: Friday, June 16 and Thursday, August 10.
